Background
NHS Digital (formerly the Health and Social Care Information Centre) is the national provider of information, data and IT systems for commissioners, analysts and clinicians in health and social care.
The Requirement
NHS Digital is having to move its services off the national N3 Wide Area Network that will no longer be supported after March 2017, on to a new Health and Social Care Network (HSCN). The Authority issued an ITQ in January 2016 under Crown Commercial Service Agreement RM1058 Technology Services for IT Infrastructure Transition Services to support this major programme, which has the objective to “enable a future where health and social care unite to transform patient care and services through the provision of greater connectivity - even in the most rural areas – putting information at the fingertips of clinicians, health and care professionals and citizens”.
Our Success
The contract was awarded in July 2016 to Bramble Hub and its partner DMW Group to provide the IT Infrastructure Transition Services for an initial period of 18 months. The core team of six network specialists has since been supplemented by a Data Scientist.
