It's all change at Crown Commercial Service. The Government purchasing agency's commercial director for technology, Sarah Hurrell, has left for a new private sector role with the market-leading accounting and payroll software provider Sage.
Rob Nixon takes over from Sarah as Commercial Director for the technology pillar. He is an experienced international procurement leader with expertise in every aspect of supply management, including direct and indirect global procurement, outsourcing and off-shoring. He's also speaking at this year's Public Sector Show, held at ExCel London in late June.
CEO Sally Collier is also leaving CCS, to take a Chief Regulator role with Ofqual chief regulator. During her time at CCS she worked hard to champion the government's involvement with SMEs via the Contract Finder website and also helped abolish pre-qualification questionnaires for IT contracts.
Malcolm Harrison is taking over as an interim COE to replace Sally, and he has an impressive track record. He has worked his way up through the procurement hierarchy, from buyer to manager to CPO, and as a result he has exactly the right broad-brush expertise for the job.
