Background

The Department for Transport (DfT) is the government department responsible for the English transport infrastructure and some elements of the systems in the rest of the UK. This includes letting rail franchises in England and Wales.

The Requirement

The Emergency Measures Co-ordination and Planning Group (CAP) within DfT’s Rail Group needed financial expertise to provide advice and support for the review and ongoing management of rail franchise operators’ business plans. The Department used Crown Commercial Service’s Management Consultancy Framework, RM3745 to identify and appoint the expertise it required.

Our Success

Bramble Hub and Grant Thornton were able to demonstrate the relevant expertise and were awarded the 9-month contract.
