Both Houses of Parliament join together for their Library Management System
Partner: PTFS Europe Limited
Background
Houses of Parliament
The Requirement
The House of Commons and House of Lords are separate organisations and both have separate Libraries. However, the Libraries work closely together, sharing resources and making books available to Members of the other House via an inter-library loan system, to ensure that both services are run as efficiently as possible. When the Houses of Parliament decided to procure a joint Library Management System, it looked to acquire this via Crown Commercial Service’s G-Cloud Framework catalogue (RM1557).
Our Success
The Houses of Parliament ran a Proof of Concept exercise and, on the basis of this, awarded the contract to Bramble Hub and PTFS Europe Limited for their open source Koha Library Management System.
