Improved sports and leisure facilities managed at Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council

Background

Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council (WMBC) is responsible for providing local government services to an estimated 270,000 residents of the district, covering a large area around Walsall in the West Midlands.

The Requirement

The Council’s Sports and Leisure Service operates 4 main complexes with a single membership system.  As part of an upgrade programme, WMBC wanted to offer self-service swipe card turnstiles, substantially reducing queuing times.  To achieve this, the Council needed to update its leisure management software and turnstiles and turned to the catalogue associated with Crown Commercial Service’s Local Authority Software Applications Framework, RM1059 to identify a suitable service provider and place the order.

Our Success

Bramble Hub and XN Leisure Systems were able to fulfil the requirements in the short timescales needed and won the contract for the Leisure Management Solution, including software, hardware, consumables, training & configuration and support.
