In October, the incoming UK government announced the opening of the Regulatory Innovation Office (RIO) with the aim of reducing regulatory obstacles to the adoption of cutting-edge technology. The goal of the new office is to aid the UK’s economic growth by speeding up the commercialisation of products and services, attracting investment and positioning the UK as a leader in new technologies.
The office will target four technology areas in particular:
AI and cutting-edge digital technology in healthcare
Biotech
Space technology
Autonomous technologies such as drones
The RIO will work with regulators with the aim of the update of regulations and ensure better coordination between various regulatory bodies.
Bramble Hub works with partners dedicated to delivering advanced technology and consulting solutions to the public sector. One of these, CloudSource, is a Microsoft Solutions Partner with a long track record of delivering digital transformation to UK regulators, and with an AI programme aimed at public sector organisations.
Ozlem Kilavuz, Cloudsource’s Head of Sales and Marketing, told us: “We’re thrilled to see the launch of the Regulatory Innovation Office, which we see as an important step towards accelerating access to transformative technology for the public sector. We fully support efforts to transform regulatory organisations to deliver streamlined, digitised services that benefit everyone”.
